The Highlight of the trip

This program is the highlight in Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai. You would see the local life and nature, which only a few times you would have a chance to stay in Chiang Dao. You would have the opportunity to see some of the essential places in Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai. With only this program, you would visit places, traditions, and culture and relax in the lovely atmosphere on the five-day, four-night trip.


Day 1 Pick up from Chiang Mai Airport, Doi Suthep temple and City temples.

Pick up from Chiang Mai International Airport. Visit Doi Suthep Pui National Park to the mountain with the curvy road to see Doi Suthep Temple, the most important temple in Chiang Mai. You are exercising time by walking up 306 steps to the temples or taking the funicular to the temple with the attitude at 1,100 ms above sea level. Return to the City to see the Suan Dork Royal Temple, where the northern royal family tombs are located, and the standing Buddha Image, the only one holding the blessing stick position in Chiang Mai. Visit Wat Chedi Luang or The Grand Pagoda Temple, where you can see the biggest pagoda in Chiang Mai, which broke down by the earthquake in 1454. However, you still can see the gigantic pagoda standing gracefully in the middle of the temple ground. Before returning to the hotel, see Wat Chiang Maan, the first temple as the royal residence of King Mengrai of the Mengrai dynasty. See two precious Buddha images, Phra Satangkamanee and Phra Buddha Sila, which are essential for the Chiang Mai people—after the temple, returning to the hotel.

Day 2 Visit Doi Inthanon National Park and  Soft Trek at Pha Dork Siew Waterfall

Depart from the hotel and head southside of Chang Mai to Doi Inthanont National Park, the highest peak in Thailand, with 2,565 meters above sea level. See the beautiful scenic view and lush green natural forest area. See the highest peak of Thailand with the stupa of King Inthawitchayanon, the last King of the Lanna Kingdom before we became Siam and Thailand later on. Visit King Inthawichayanont’s stupa and enjoy a 30-minute walk on the Angka nature trail. See the lush green forest area and feel fresh with the cool breath against your face. Then, continue to the Twin Pagodas for King Bhumibol and Queen Sirikit of Thailand as the 60th birthday anniversary, built by Thai Lada Air Force and locals. Inside the pagodas, see the beautiful art about the Lord Buddha. Then, visit the Hmong hill tribe market, where they sell their vegetables and fruit products instead of opium, and lunch in the local restaurant. Then, we met our new friend, a Karen man from the “Pa Ka Yor” hill tribe, who would lead us through the forest area to his Village.

Start your walk into the pine forest area and follow the small pathway to Pha Dork Siew Waterfall, one of the most beautiful waterfalls in this area. See the beautiful scenery and, lush green forest and different bio diversities. The walkway is both an easy walk and an exciting one. The stop will be made close to the waterfall for you to swim and relax in the fresh cooling water. Enjoy the lovely view of the waterfall before continuing the walk through the terrace rice fields and coffee plantation that belong to the Karen Hill tribe who work for the King’s Royal project before reaching the Village. After resting, have some fresh Arabica coffee from the Village before continuing to Wachiratharn Waterfall, one of the waterfalls 750 meters high; a robust and powerful current of the water and a fresh spray against your face. Take an easy, short walk around to take photos before returning to Chiang Mai City.

Day 3  Sticky waterfall, Elephant Sanctuary and Long Neck village

Pick up from the hotel lobby in Chiang Mai at 8:30 am 8:30 am, heading north of Chiang Mai to Chiang Mai Sticky Waterfall, the natural waterfall from limestone called “Bautong Waterfall “. Enjoy the clear crystal water and have fun climbing from the bottom to the top of the waterfall. Then, heading to Elephant Sanctuary, meet the elephants and learn to take care of these lovely friends. Feed them, take them for a walk in the shady forest and the jungle area in the camp. Share your kindness and caring with them with love and care. Enjoy nice and cool water bathing with your elephant in the river. Then, having lunch before walking to the Long Neck Village, see the long-neck ladies who carry 24-26 rings on their shoulders to be the most beautiful ladies in their Village and keep their tribe tradition. Enjoy walking around the Village for you to take some photos and support the tribe products if you prefer. After that, continue the road for about an hour to the “Chiang Dao” area, 70 kilometres from Chiang Mai City, where peace and nature come together. Then, check-in at the hotel in Chiang Dao at the Buraphat Resort with a lovely view of Chiang Dao Mountain.

Day 4 Visit Chiang Dao Cave, Thaton Temple, King Mather Doi Tung Garden, Mae Sai, Thai, Myanmar border and Golden Triangle.

Check out and leave the hotel to Thaton Area; on the way, visit Chiang Dao Cave, which once used to be the resting place for the Burmese soldier’s troops before they attacked Chiang Mai in the 1400s. Inside the cave, enjoy using your imagination to guess the shape of the stalagmite and stalactite in different shapes and forms. Then, visit Thaton temple up the mountain with a nice view of the Kok River from Myanmar, which is 78 km through Thailand from Thaton to Chiang Rai. Lunch in the local restaurant. Then, heading to Doi Tung Royal Villa of the Princess Mother of King Rama 9th, she spent her time improving the hill-tribe life to stop opium cultivation. See the lovely log cabin palace with the beautiful flower garden. Then, visit Mae Sai, the border between Thailand and Myanmar. See the Thai, Chinese and Burmese people cross over the edge for trading before heading to The Golden Triangle, which once was the famous opium trade area and then check in the hotel.

Day 5  Visit the Boat on Khong to Laos, Black Museum, Sigha Park with tea plantation, White Temple, Hot Spring and Chiang Mai.

Wake up in the morning and have breakfast, then explore the Golden Triangle, the famous opium trading area in the old days. Enjoy the boat ride on the Mae Khong Giantic River and visit Laos. Then, leaving the Golden Triangle to the Chiang Rai Area, se//e the Black Museum of Mr. Tawan Datchanee, one of the most famous artists in Thailand, with the idea of Yin and Yang, balancing the vast collections of the artists and enjoying taking photos. Lunch in the local restaurant and visit Singha Park with tea plantation fields. Enjoy the green space and then visit the White Temple, the unique temple in Thailand showing his purity of heart. See the contemporary art on the temple wall. Then, heading to the hot spring before arriving in Chiang Mai and overnight in Chiang Mai.

 What should you bring on this trip?

A camera, cap or a hat, insect spray, sunscreen lotion, your medication, some jacket or long sleeves for the night in the night time, walking shoes or trainers for the trek, swimming suit or swimming trunk for swimming in the waterfall, raingear and picture of your passport.

What should you wear on the trip?

  • T-shirt and shorts on the day to the elephant farm and soft trek. ( If you prefer pants, it’s ok.)
  • Sandals or flip-flops for the easy program.
  • Walking / Trekking shoes
  • Appropriate dress for the temples. (Pants or skirts below the knees. No tank top or spaghetti straps.)

Weather tips

November – February

During the winter in Thailand, from November to February, the temperature ranges from 5-12 degrees Celsius / 41-54 degrees Fahrenheit. It is essential to come prepared with appropriate clothing to stay warm. This period is considered the best time for travelling in Thailand due to the lovely and cool weather. The landscape is covered with blooming flowers and lush vegetation, which makes the biodiversity of birds and wildlife plentiful.


From March to May, it is summertime, with temperatures ranging from 28 to 33 degrees

Celsius (82 to 91 degrees Fahrenheit). The hottest time of the year is in

April, when temperatures reach as high as 43 degrees Celsius (109 degrees

Fahrenheit). It is recommended to bring light and thin clothing, as well as a

hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen.

June – October

This is the rainy season, with temperatures ranging between 18 – 25 degrees Celsius/ 64 -77 degrees Fahrenheit. An umbrella or raincoat is recommended, and

sandals or waterproof shoes are the best footwear options during these months.
