The Highlight

Once in your lifetime to get so close to the big and lovely elephant, enjoy learning the elephant behaviour and care and Soft trek in Doi Inthanon National Park Area with beautiful nature and fresh air and try the local transportation used by the locals and shop in the local market and try the local food, enjoy visiting Chiang Mai Night Safari and Visit Chiang Dao Area and explore the cave.

 

Itinerary

Day 1   Doi Inthanon National Park and Soft Trek at Pha Dork Siew Waterfall. 
Depart from the hotel and head southside of Chang Mai to Doi Inthanon National Park, the highest peak in Thailand, with 2,565 meters above sea level. See the beautiful scenic view and lush green natural forest area. See the highest peak of Thailand with the stupa of King Inthawitchayanon, the last King of the Lanna Kingdom before we became Siam and Thailand later on. Visit King Inthawichayanon’sInthawichayanon’s stupa and enjoy a 30-minute walk on the Angka nature trail. See the lush green forest area and feel fresh with the cool breath against your face. Then, continue to the Twin Pagodas for King Bhumibol and Queen Sirikit of Thailand as the 60th birthday anniversary built by Thai Lada Air Force and locals. Inside the pagodas, see the beautiful art about the Lord Buddha. Then, visit the Hmong hill tribe market, where they sell their vegetables and fruit products instead of opium, and lunch in the local restaurant. Then, we met our new friend, a Karen man from the “Pa Ka Yor” hill tribe, who would lead us on the walk through the forest area to his village.

Start your walk into the pine forest area and follow the small pathway to Pha Dork Siew Waterfall, one of the most beautiful waterfalls in this area. See the beautiful scenery, lush green forest, and different biodiversities. The walkway is both an easy walk and an exciting one. The stop will be made close to the waterfall for you to swim and relax in the fresh cooling water. Enjoy the lovely view of the waterfall before continuing the walk through the terrace rice fields and coffee plantation that belong to the Karen Hill tribe who work for the King’s Royal project before reaching the village. After resting, have some fresh Arabica coffee from the town before continuing to Wachiratharn Waterfall, one of the waterfalls 750 meters high; a robust and powerful current of the water and a fresh spray against your face. Take an easy, short walk around to take photos before returning to Chiang Mai City.

Day 2: Elephant Sanctuary visits Long Neck Village and Free transfer to Tiger Kingdom. 

Pick up from the hotel in Chiang Mai At 8:00 am to the Mae Tang area to meet your big and gentle friend. After the arrival, Change your clothes to be the mahout uniform, and now you are ready to be a Mahout!

You will learn how to command and take care of your elephant. Then walk along side by side to on your elephant in the shady. On the way, you will enjoy the lovely scenery of the lush green jungle and have an authentic mahout lunch in the mountains. Then visit the famous black mud spa where you and your elephant can enjoy, have fun and get dirty while playing with your elephant. After the Black Mud Spa, you will finish your day with elephant bathing and swimming in Mae Tang River to refresh yourself and your elephant. Then, returning to the camp, clean up and get ready to return to Chiang Mai City with your unforgettable memory of your new big and gentle friend. Then visit the Long Neck Village and see the incredible length of the ladie’sladie’s neck with a maximum of 25-26 rings around their neck to present as the most beautiful lady in the village after that transfer to the Tiger Kingdom for you to play with the tigers. You will get back to Chiang Mai around 5:30 pm.

Remark: On the way back, you could be transferred to the Tiger Kingdom if you wish to play with the Tigers’Tigers’ cubs or the big tigers. Our guide and driver could wait for you however the entrance fee ticket would be your expense. These depend on the sizes of the tigers you pick

Day 3: One day, Chiang Rai visits the White Temple, Singha Park, Blue Temple, Black Museum and Long Neck Village.

7:30 am. Departs from the hotel in Chiang Mai City to visit the hot spring on the road, which the locals use daily. Northern Thailand is in the hilly area and has many different sizes of hot springs. Head to the Mae Lao area from the hot spring, where the White Temple is located. The temple is always glittering in the sun in white and reflecting the small pieces of the mirror as the idea to present the artist’s vision, Mr Chalermchai Kositpipat, to Buddhism and the world. There are four main buildings for you to walk around:

1.       White Temple building, Hall of Flame, Souvenir hall and the Golden Toilet.

2.       Visit Sigha Park on the way back to see the tea plantation and the lovely view.

3.       Visit the remarkable Blue Temple, which is very beautiful and has elaborate decorations in blue colour.

After walking around and taking photos, we had lunch at the local restaurant. We headed to the Black Museum or Ban Dum, one of the unique museums in northern Thailand by Mr. Tawan Datchanee with the idea of black and white colour. There are many collections of art where you can admire and take photos. After heading to the Long Neck Hilltribe, see the incredible length that continues and passes to the young generation to keep their tradition in the changing world of technology before heading back to Chiang Mai safe and sound.

Day 4: Day visit Doi Suthep Temple and City Temples. 

Pick up from the hotel to the Doi Suthep – Pui National Park to the mountain with the curvy road to see Doi Suthep Temple, the most important temple in Chiang Mai. You are exercising time by walking up 306 steps to the temples or taking the funicular to the temple with the attitude at 1,100 ms above sea level.

See the Northern Thai dented corner golden pagoda, which contains the relic of the Lord Buddha—surrounded by the mural painting hall, which tells about the Lord Buddha’s story. Here, you can also get a chance to get a holy blessing and wrist-tiding ceremony from the Buddhist monk. From the balcony, enjoy the panorama view of Chiang Mai City. Birds fly up in the sky and cool breath against your face.

Return to the city to see the Suan Dork Royal Temple, where the northern royal family tombs are located, and the standing Buddha Image, the only one holding the blessing stick position in Chiang Mai. Visit Wat Chedi Luang or The Grand Pagoda Temple, where you can see the biggest pagoda in Chiang Mai, which broke down by the earthquake in 1454. However, you still can see the gigantic pagoda standing gracefully in the middle of the temple ground. Before returning to the hotel, see Wat Chiang Maan, the first temple as the royal residence of King Mengrai of the Mengrai dynasty. See two precious Buddha images, “Phra Satangkamanee” and “Phra Buddha Sila”, essential for the Chiang Mai people.

What should you bring on the trip?

A camera, cap or a hat, insect spray, sunscreen lotion, your medication, some jacket or long sleeves for the night in case the night time, walking shoes or trainers for the trek,

swimming suit or trunk for swimming in the waterfall, raingear and picture of your passport.

 

What should you wear on the trip?

  • T-shirt and shorts on the day to the elephant farm and soft trek. ( If you prefer pants, it’s okay.)
  • Sandals or flip-flops for the easy program.
  • Walking / Trekking shoes
  • Appropriate dress for the temples. (Pants or skirts below the knees. No tank top or spaghetti straps.)

 

Weather tips

November – February

During the winter in Thailand, from November to February, the temperature ranges from 5-12 degrees Celsius / 41-54 degrees Fahrenheit. It is essential to come prepared with appropriate clothing to stay warm. This period is considered the best time for travelling in Thailand due to the lovely and cool weather. The landscape is covered with blooming flowers and lush vegetation, which makes the biodiversity of birds and wildlife plentiful.

March-May.
From March to May, it is summertime, with temperatures ranging from 28 to 33 degrees Celsius (82 to 91 degrees Fahrenheit). The hottest time of the year is in April, when temperatures reach as high as 43 degrees Celsius (109 degrees Fahrenheit). It is recommended to bring light and thin clothing, as well as a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen.

June – October.
This is the rainy season, with temperatures ranging between 18 – 25 degrees Celsius / 64 -77 degrees Fahrenheit. An umbrella or raincoat is recommended, and sandals or waterproof shoes are the best footwear options during these months.
