If you love the experience of being close to the big giant animal on land, The Elephants Enjoy more adventure and excitement with the White water rafting and the visit to the famous symbol of Chiang Mai Doi Suthep Temple, the centre of Buddhism in Chiang Mai. This is the program you are looking for.

 Tour Description

Program duration: Daily 08:00 am – 5:00 pm.

This program has combined the elephant care and Sanctuary program, which you could enjoy and get closer to the giant animal on land, big but gentle elephants.

The program starts picking you up at 8:00 am from your accommodation early in the morning and then heading north of Chiang Mai City by road number 107 to the Mae Tang area. Turn to the minor road from the main street to the elephant care and Sanctuary. After the arrival:

Change your clothes.

Put on the elephant keeper outfit provided for you.
Keep yours dry and clean at the end of the activity.
Getting close to the elephants is something extraordinary. You would learn to command the elephant and call on them with the technic as the elephant boy or the mahout do. Learn the facts about the elephants and spend your time feeding and taking photos with them. Soon after you have learned, it is time for you to walk side by side with your elephant to the jungle and enjoy the scenery of the river. Then bathe your elephant in the river to cool them down and have lunch.

After lunch, continue to the white water rafting camp for the last program of the day for paddling through the current along the Tang River and meet your driver before heading back to Chiang Mai. After that, Doi Suthep Temple, the most important temple in Chiang Mai. Exercising time by walking up 306 steps to the temples or taking the funicular to the temple ground with the attitude at 1,100 ms above sea level. See the Northern Thai dented corner golden pagoda, which contains the relic of the Lord Buddha—surrounded by the mural painting hall, which tells about the Lord Buddha’s story. Here you can also get a chance to get a holy blessing and wrist-tiding ceremony from the Buddhist monk. Enjoy the beautiful panorama bird’s eye view of Chiang Mai City from the balcony, then return to your hotel.


08.00 am pick up from the hotel and head to Mae Tang Area, arriving at the elephant care and Sanctuary.
08.15 am Learning about the elephant, feeding and the technique to care for and get along with your new friends.
08.30 am Time for you to walk side by side with your elephant in the forest and enjoy the experience as the elephant carer and keeper.
09.30 am Bring your elephant to the river for you to bathe it to cool them down and feed them more.
10.00 am Finish mini-course for elephant care and Sanctuary. Then heading to the white water rafting camp for you to go on white water rafting for 45-50 minutes.
12.00 am Finish the white water rafting and head to the next activity,
 01.00 pm Delicious lunch in the local restaurant.
02.30 pm visit to Doi Suthep temple, the most famous temple on the mountain with Gold Pagoda.
03.30 pm You can see Chiang Mai’s viewpoint.
 05.00 pm Arrive at your hotel

Remark:  On the way back, we will pass the Tiger Kingdom, Snakes Farm, Crocodile Farm, etc. If you prefer to stop by for these activities, the guide and the driver could stop for you. However, all the expenses would be your own, not included in the program.

 What should you bring on the trip?

– Swimming suit or swimming trunk.

– Sandals, flip – flops or slippers.

– Towel

– Dry clothes for changing if you prefer. (You can use their uniform while doing the activities and keep yours dry and clean at the end of the day trip activities)

– Insect spray or mosquito spray.

– Sunglasses and sun cream lotion.

– A hat or a cap.

– Spare underwear.

– Your medication.

Weather tips

November – February

During the winter in Thailand, from November to February, the temperature ranges from 5-12 degrees Celsius / 41-54 degrees Fahrenheit. It is essential to come prepared with appropriate clothing to stay warm. This period is considered the best time for travelling in Thailand due to the lovely and cool weather. The landscape is covered with blooming flowers and lush vegetation, which makes the biodiversity of birds and wildlife plentiful.


From March to May, it is summertime, with temperatures ranging from 28 to 33 degrees Celsius (82 to 91 degrees Fahrenheit). The hottest time of the year is in April when temperatures reach as high as 43 degrees Celsius (109 degrees Fahrenheit), and it is recommended to bring light and thin clothing, as well as a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen lotion.

June – October

This is the rainy season, with temperatures ranging between 18 – 25 degrees Celsius / 64 -77 degrees Fahrenheit. An umbrella or raincoat is recommended, and sandals or waterproof shoes are the best footwear options during these months.


This activity is not recommended for pregnant women, children under one year of age, and individuals who suffer from any medical or physical disability.
