The Highlights of the trip

This program is arranged for someone who loves to be in touch with the elephants and prefers spending as much time as possible with big, gentle friends. This program is the perfect one you need.

 

 Itinerary

Program duration: Daily 08:30 am – 5:30 pm.

Pick up from the hotel in Chiang Mai at 8:00 a.m. to the MaeTang area to meet your big and gentle friends. After your arrival, change your clothes to the prepared mahout uniform, and now you are ready to be a Mahout!

You will learn how to command and ride your elephant. Then, trek through the jungle by walking with your elephant as the elephant keepers do. On the way, you will enjoy the lovely scenery of the lush green jungle and have lunch in the beautiful view. Then visit the famous elephant black mud spa where you and your elephant can enjoy, have fun and get dirty while playing with your elephant. After the elephant black mud spa, you will finish your day with the elephant bathing and swimming in Mae Tang River to refresh yourself and your elephant. Then, return to the camp, clean up and prepare to return to Chiang Mai City with your unforgettable memory of your new big and gentle friends. On the way back to Chiang Mai, visit the Long Neck Village and see the incredible length of the ladies’ necks with a maximum of 25-26 rings around their necks to present as the most beautiful lady in the village. Then, if you prefer to stop by the Tiger Kingdom *** to play with the tigers. You could inform the guide and the driver to get a free transfer. However, all your expenses for the ticket entrance fee would be your expenses on the spot. You will get back to Chiang Mai around 5:30 p.m.

Remark

On the way back, you could be transferred to the Tiger Kingdom if you wish to play with the Tigers’ cubs or the big tigers. Our guide and driver could wait for you. However, the entrance fee ticket would be your own expense. These depend on the sizes of the tigers you pick.

  • Top with sleeves or shirt. No tank tops or spaghetti straps.
  • Long pants or skirt below the knees.

 Weather tips

 November – February

During the winter in Thailand, from November to February, the temperature ranges from 5-12 degrees Celsius / 41-54 degrees Fahrenheit. It is essential to come prepared with appropriate clothing to stay warm. This period is considered the best time for travelling in Thailand due to the lovely and cool weather. The landscape is covered with blooming flowers and lush vegetation, which makes the biodiversity of birds and wildlife plentiful.

March-May

From March to May, it is summertime, with temperatures ranging from 28 to 33 degrees Celsius (82 to 91 degrees Fahrenheit). The hottest time of the year is in April when temperatures reach as high as 43 degrees Celsius (109 degrees Fahrenheit), and it is recommended to bring light and thin clothing, as well as a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen lotion.

June – October

This is the rainy season, with temperatures ranging between 18 – 25 degrees Celsius / 64 -77 degrees Fahrenheit. An umbrella or raincoat is recommended, and sandals or waterproof shoes are the best footwear options during these months.

  • To ensure seat availability, bookings must be made at least Two days before the tour date, before 8:30 p.m. during office hours. Only fully paid bookings will receive a confirmation with an attached voucher.
