Depart from the hotel in the morning, heading southward of Chang Mai along Highway no.108 to Doi Inthanont National Park, the highest peak in Thailand with 2,565 meters above sea level. See the beautiful scenic view and lush green nature forest area along the mountainous road up—around 44 kilometres up the top. You can see the highest peak of Thailand with the stupa of King Inthawitchayanon, the last King of the Lanna Kingdom before we became Siam and Thailand later on. The King Once had a chance to visit this mountain named “Doi AngKa” ( The peak of the crows’ pound) and liked the place so much that he asked his daughter, Chao Dararassamee, who became the lady consort of King Rama 5th of Thailand at that time. He wished his ashes to be placed up at the mountain’s peak. Soon after he passed away, the mountain’s name changed to “Doi Inthanont National Park” since then.

At the peak stand the stupa of the King among the cool climate in summer and cold in Winter. In this place, not only is the beautiful forest area, but you can see some beautiful birds as well. Near the stupa is a radar control station of Thai Lada Airfoce to keep control of the borderline between Thailand and Myanmar. After visiting King Inthawichayanont’s stupa, enjoy 30 30-minute walks on the Angka nature trail. See the lush green forest area and feel fresh with the cool breath against your face. Then, continue to the Twin Pagodas for King Bhumibol and Queen Sirikit of Thailand as the 60th birthday anniversary built by the Thai Lada Air Force Radar Station and locals. Inside the pagodas, see the beautiful art about the Lord Buddha. Then, visit the Hmong hill tribe market, selling their vegetables and fruit products instead of opium, and have lunch in the local restaurant. Then we met our new friend, the Karen man from the “Pa Ka Yor” hill tribe, who would lead us on the walk through the forest area to his village.

Start your walk into the pine forest area, and follow the small pathway deep in to see “Pha Dork Siew Waterfall“, one of the most beautiful waterfalls in this area. See the beautiful scenery, lush green forest, and different biodiversities of life. The walkway is both an easy walk and an exciting one. The stop will be made close to the waterfall for you to swim and relax in the fresh cooling water. Enjoy the lovely view of the waterfall before continuing the walk through the terrace rice fields and coffee plantation that belong to the Karen Hill tribe who work for the King’s Royal project before reaching the village. After resting, have some fresh Arabica coffee from the town before continuing to “Wachiratharn Waterfall“, one of the waterfalls 750 meters high. There robust and powerful current of the water and the fresh spray against your face. Take an easy, short walk around to take photos before returning to Chiangmai.
